Do I have peridotite?

0 votes

I've got this small, polished slab of a green mineral, with black speckles, and a defined "vein" of crystal between the larger top portion and the "base" rock (which I also can't identify). It looks like the photos I've seen of peridotite varieties like Harzburgite or Wehrlite. Am I far off?

EDIT (Add'l info): I can scratch and scrape it with a knife. I'm not really sure what else to do to test it. You'll have to ask.

Helpful, thank you.
It looks like peridotite. You may note, I have been moderating for three years and on the site for four and have never received a negative vote. I cannot give you a positive answer because I have no information, just a picture. Now, I cannot say that ever again.
