Certainly a color change that pronounced would indicate the possibility of alexandrite, thought it's really impossible to identify a gem by visualization alone, especially when there is so much synthetic material available. Do bear in mind that the transparency and clarity for that size for a Russian Alexandrite makes its authenticity unlikely.
