Could be. You can have it tested at any jewelry store.

A diamond that size would be highly improbably to nearly impossible. It would be historic. Your find is most likely quartz. Please post some more photos so we can get a better look at crystals faces. It looks quite like a Herkimer Diamond, which is a specific variety of quartz from New York that resembles your piece. My advice would be to check out the area where you found this for more specimens!

It does look like diamond rough, but the odds are against it given it's size (it would be quite valuable). Did you find it near a stream or in dry waterbed? If so, it could be something called an Alluvial diamond deposit. Definitely worth checking out.
