Rhodolite Garnet is not included in the Garnet Group. Is there a reason for this?

Rhodolite is not an actual garnet species but an intermediary member between the pyrope and almandine garnet group members. Since its not an individual mineral, but rather an intermediary variety, we didn't include it as a separate mineral within the group, although of course its in the garnet group. However, due to its popularity as a gemstone, we did create a special gemstone page for it which you can see here:
