Are there official places I can go to verify my 11.4 cm Shattuckite sphere?

Yes, depending on where you are located. My suggestion would be to see if there are any rock and mineral shows near you, and show this to some of the experts there. Here is a link of show schedules around the country:

Thanks for the information.  Unfortunately, here in MI there is nothing listed at this time, nor is there anything close to my area.
I don't know where in Michigan you are located, but your state has a well-known museum there called the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum. See http://www.museum.mtu.edu/
If its nearby it would be worth the trip, and perhaps you could speak to one of the curators.
Yes, that would be a good idea and a great place to visit.  But... I live in the Detroit area of the state.  MI Tech is about 550 miles north of where I live.  Maybe one day for a vacation I will visit.  Thanks again for the advice.  It does look like a good place for information.
