Would hematite cause a gem tester to beep as if it is touching metal?

+1 vote
Hi. I was wondering if a necklace made  of hematite would make a gem tester beep like it does when the gem tester touches metal on a ring?  I am trying to figure out if a necklace that I have is made of hematite (or something else).  It does not beep, but rather registers in between the edge of spinal and in between topaz and ruby.  Thank you for any info you have!

Sorry kbair, I don't know. What I do know is, it is an iron ore.

Not familiar with the gem tester that you are describing, but hematite is not a metal, despite having a metallic luster, and wouldn't react the same way as metals.
