How do you grow hopper shaped Bismuth crystals?

0 votes

I want to grow my own bismuth crystals and was wondering if there was a way to guarantee that the crystals developed into a hopper shape like the ones in these photos:

I would like to crystals that are a little big bigger that average, and also form a deep hopper shape.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Bismuth-Crystals-In-The-Kitchen/  Here's a guide on how to make crystals. Its very difficult to exactly control the shape of the crystal being formed especially in inexact lab settings (such as your kitchen), however the guide does mention that a slimmer, deeper pot used in the process will produce larger crystals, so give it a shot or two and let us know how it turns out.
