What are these green and black layered rocks?

0 votes

This is relating to my previous question (http://answers.minerals.net/7749/update-previous-question-rinsed-more-colorful-rocks-shown), I am uploading closer pictures while grouping ones I assume are the same type of rock. This one intrigues me because of the multiple layers of black and green. I Googled it and still couldn't find anything close.

For the record, in the last two collage images: as written the left column was taken when the rock was dry and the right column is the rock wet. I want to add that the top row had the flash on and the bottom row did not.

Without knowing any physical properties or its mode of occurrence its really impossible to identify this one visually. Can you please give any locality information and/or describe the surrounding rock? Can you supply any physical properties?

All I know is that it (allegedly) came from Brazil, as part of a bulk order from Amazon. I can try to do a scrape and hardness test and let you know.
Ok. Also see if you can somehow test for fluorescence.
I will try to obtain a UV light to test with and see if it glows.
