Can somebody identify the names of these stones?

0 votes

I found them in my backyard scattered in different places a couple of years ago I'd say about around 1 foot deep. I have large pickle jar full of stones that I would say are pretty common, but these 3 stuck out the most and are different than the others. Can somebody identify them for me? I live in central NJ if that helps. Thanks!

PS- just a side not for the first one: I own a clear quartz and rose quartz crystal and the feel and hardness of those are a little different than the crystal in the first picture. This one kind of feels lighter/less dense and maybe a tad bit softer too. Definitely not as hard as quartz.

I would hazard a guess the third one is jasper.

First one looks like it could be either a rough piece of aquamarine, or perhaps even more likely glass. Central Jersey has few mineral occurrences so it's likely these were not placed here naturally.

Second one may be hawk eye. I, too, believe the third could be jasper.

Thanks for the answer, I also did not see any familiar stone, but I'm newbie in this field. Besides, thank you for assignment suggestion. During my college career, I've very likely been assigned this kind of paper, especially oncein upper-level classes. Basically for me best is HandMadeWritings (https://handmadewritings.com/). But try something new could help me in my education and development.
I think it looks like a mixture of several stones. Aquamarine? Hawkeye? Perhaps a burnt stone, or a mixture with glass. This often happens. In any case, these stones do not cost money, like real pure cut jewelry - it's 100%. We in the team https://papercheap.co.uk/blog wrote a lot of content for jewelry stores, and although I already know a little about it. Not everything that glitters is a precious stone that costs thousands of dollars :)
