Need help identify this?

0 votes

My husband and I were given this and several other rocks and crystals.  We have been working on identifying them all and creating a library of what we have.  We have never seen this one in any of the rock stores and can't figure out what it is.  Even though it appears to have layers it is very smooth, almost feels silky, and is a very light blue and light green (almost white in areas).  Here is a picture, any help is greatly appreciated.

Looks like talc, and your description of its feel would indicate that as well. Talc is in fact the softest mineral and can even be scratched with your fingernail. See if it will scratch like that, and that you can assume that's what it is.
