Can anyone please tell me about the stone commonly called green Swiss Opal?

It's appearing a lot on ebay and other shopping sites but I can't find any mention of what it actually is.  Is it a real stone, or manufactured?   Thank you for your help.

Real stone, most often dark green and mottled somewhat like lizard skin or chicken wire. It changes colors when light strikes it much like precious opals. The changing colors are caused by the way light is refracted and that effect is called opalescence.
