yes, most of them you buy in stores have been tumbled. The current trend is not to cut or alter the appearance because people prefer the rough agates. The value of your stone might be reduced. Agates rarely bring great amounts of money so you should let your preference be your guide. A lapidary might help you to cut and polish one face or advise you on the value.
