How would I list the 3800 minerals from simple to complex?

I mean what would be considered your everyday mineral to a pig farmer from the dark ages and what would seem like a god made it? Overwhelming chemical complexity to the simplest possible. Like where would say salt, gold, sand, ruby, and say quartz fall in a list of complexity?

Although the list of minerals is indeed very large, only about 500 are generally known to the public, with the rest being only of interest to geologists and mineralogists. The rest are very uncommon and rarely encountered.
