Green lava/volcanic mineral?

0 votes

Minty green, with sparkly cubical inclusions.

Does not scratch glass.

I have absolutely no idea where this came from.

It must be some Andesite like rock.

I have absolutely no idea. I once bought a box full of minerals, and it was in there.

Do you yhink it could be olivine?
answered Jun 12, 2015 by anonymous
Definitely not; olivine is much greener and does not have airholes.

Another possibility could be slag. If its entirely amorphous with gas bubbles throughout, that could indicate slag.

But where does the green color come from. I have googled, but haven't found anything like it.

BTW: I did the acid test; it bubbles.
