Opal and minerals in pink stone. Natural or man made?

0 votes

Hello All,

I recently purchased this from a store in town that sells a lot of nice gemstone jewelry. I thought these were beautiful and wanted one for my coffee table. The woman told me these are natural and mined in Brazil. She said the gems are naturally formed in rose quartz(which sounds like a line to me) and cut into egg shapes.

What do you think? Are these man made or natural pieces?

Thanks a bunch, Chris

Hard to tell forsure from the picture put it does appear like there is opal in there in some sort of brecciated matrix. I never heard of opal forming in rose quartz - could be cemented in artificially, or naturally brecciated. Ask her to give you the exact locality and we can look this up.
