I google searched (quote a bit) and found something that might help.
This link here [http://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DioXGL-5hhT0&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwjJidnh1arLAhWGw4MKHWwJD7sQtwIIFTAA&usg=AFQjCNH5ZIwA1pBVD5nrKSJgDC8QhYSwgg] is a YouTube.com video entitled "Sift Stones With A Do-It-Yourself Dirt Sifter". I'm guessing if you set up this near your creek bed it should be helpful in a lot of the work.
This link [http://www.google.com/url?q=https://americanminingrights.com/how-to-pan-for-gold/&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiKx7SZ1qrLAhWBlYMKHe5RAY0QFggUMAA&usg=AFQjCNHnJtUtLapvZ4W0W7nPnF_cwbcYrQ] is an article that's called "How To Successfully Pan For Gold In Rivers, Creeks, & Streams". Although you might not be panning for gold exactly, the principle's are pretty much the same I'm guessing with just some minor adjustments such as sizing etc.
Lastly, this article here [http://www.mdpub.com/prospecting/] includes photos and is called "Gold Prospecting and Gold Panning How-To". Again, same principle, just have to make minor alterations. Good tips and some instructions/tutorials on this page too.
Hope this helps!
Good Prospecting :)
