Agate or jasper?

Anyone know what this stone is? I'd love some help identifying the box of treasures I've got!alt text

It's not Jasper...It appears to be agate. Where was it found? You don't have to be exact but upper New Mexico would help us identify this.

Pretty sure this is Australian. It's from a collection that has been sitting in a shed for about 30 years.

This has banding like agate, but seems to be opaque which would more technically classify it as jasper. Their composition is the same - its just technical matter how they are classified. I would feel more comfortable classifying it as jasper over agate.

You may be correct...it might be jasper. It was the quartz which confusedme.
