found these small gems in basement hidden away, need help identifying them!!

0 votes

Hi everybody, I recently found this small old case of what looks to me like possibly jade but I am not sure because I'm no to extremely familiar with gems. They were left in my basement hidden away by the previous owner. Also you can see there is some brown dust and residue on the gems but it seems like it comes right off with some good cleaning. I have taken some pictures and I was wondering what all of you think, and if you guys could help me to distinguish what these things actually are and if the have any value? Thanks so much!alt textalt textalt textalt text

I think they are what you call Larimar, Larimar is blue and white and that is what this picture looks like

Quite interesting. Hard to tell from the photos without doing tests on it. To narrow it down a jeweler would have to do some tests like hardness, refractive index, etc.

its too evenly colored to be larimar, you'd see white around the light blu-ish touquise color as typical with larimar

He says its from previous owner hidden away, and larimar is relatively new, so another reason that larimar is unlikely. It looks most like a type of chalcedony.
