Is this alexandrite?

0 votes

The earrings I just bought were sold to me as alexandrite, however, upon research, I learned that the color change of the stones just is the opposite of what is described in the literature. They are green in artificial light and turn red in natural light. Are these real Alexandrite?

There are many synthetics and fakes out there - its hard to tell for certain. Gemstones such as alexandrite should only be purchased from trustworthy dealers.
