It does not scratch glass and when put down to hard little almost square bits fall off. It leaves a white streak on a tile.

I was thinking citrine or tangarine quartz but that does not fit the hardness.

Just to compare: Aragonite has a different colour too.

Aragonite has a different shape then calcite but there are times that they can be hard to distinguish. I looked at your pictures again and noticed a very distinct cleavage face on one of the crystals which is also indicative of calcite.
