What fields can you classify mineralogy into?

For a science project, I am doing mine on mineralogy. For an outline, mineralogy fields would be very helpful. I have looked on Wikipedia, but that is not a credible source. Please reply as soon as possible.

What fields of mineralogy are you looking for? Are you looking for mineral properties? If so, you may find these articles helpful: http://www.minerals.net/resource/Mineral_Properties.aspx

I'm looking for specifically types of minerals. (ex. common, uncommon)

On the mineral detail pages on the minerals.net website, every mineral had a field called "Prevalence" - this describes the mineral on a scale of 1 to 3 how common the mineral is, with 1 being the most common and 3 being the least common. Hope this field helps your study! - Hershel
