On eBay I saw aquamarine with garnet crystals-were they glued -seems unlikely

Hmm... That is a tricky question to answer. I do not think that aquamarine and garnet would form together since the geology that forms them is so different from each other. Garnet is formed by minerals meeting immense pressure, while aquamarine gets its unique color from exposure over time to different minerals. In conclusion, it is very unlikely that they formed that way together, but not impossible. Most likely glued or connected somehow.

Both aquamarine and spessartine garnet form in pegmatites, so the possibility of them forming together is definitely a possibly, especially from some of the well-known pegmatite regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. If you can post a picture or a link to the ebay page, that would help in the identification process, as well as any information.
