Only answer I could find on the web was a granite. There are stones which change color when subjected to heat(thermochromism) and when subjected to light(photochromism).  And rocks that change color by glowing in the dark,( fluorescence).

Thanks for the effort. However, I don't think granite is considered a gemstone.I did find a possible gemstone, ( Chalcedony ) that seems to fit. I was hoping to get a confirmation on my find. The stone has some properties related to jasper and onyx, and is sometimes formed in layers or creating stalactites. Trying to solve a trivia question on a local web game.
