Fire in opal

0 votes

I have an black precious opal pendant I got at a flea market. When put in the sun light a red dot appears and moves as you move the stone. The dealer said it is called fire and is rare in opals since it can be lost with certain cutting or polishing techniques. How rare is it really to have this fire in the stone?
