Please help identify these stones, which are all on one strand

They appear to have small quartz areas in a translucent soft brown (similar to brown/smokey topaz) with yellow and cream opaque base that might be calcite or yellow calcite. These are three examples on a strand of 8 stones.

My best guess is jasper. Jasper is opaque. Light will not shine through it. Agate is translucent. Backlight your specimen.
