Can you identify this stone? Apricot Agate or Banded Carnelian maybe?

My boyfriend bought this for me at a festival and didn't ask what it was. I was curious if anyone could tell me by looking at it. The closest pictures I could find online were of Apricot Agate or Banded Carnelian?

It could possibly be Carnelian, but Carnelian is typically without stripes. I think it is Sardonyx.

Thank you, it does look much more like Sardonyx. I do not know anything about identifying stones, so I have just been looking at pictures online...

Pictures online is the best way to do it, if you don't already know what it is.

Its definitely an agate. Sardonyx is a type of agate with a color like yours, though the term isn't used all that much these days. Many agates from Brazil (the main source of agate) are dyed, so the color may not be natural.
