Rock found in lake

0 votes

Hi. I found this rock in a lake and I would love to know what you think it is. The white looking part is like a shiny glass looking thing and its all over the rock when you shine light on it.  :)

The shiny bits are probably mica shards, or even small pieces of quartz crystals, the rocks themselves look like sedimentary rock like sandstone and limestone.

The picture quality is poor and you haven't provided any other information other than it was found a lake. Please try to post better pictures and some additional background information.

All I know is I found it in a lake up north. I also only have my phone as a camera so please excuse the "poor quality" of my photos. You really didn't have to comment if you don't know what the stone is.
Alixx,
I commented because as a moderator of this forum I encourage provision of details and fuller information so those in this forum can be helpful. Just stating a locality as a "lake up north" is really not helpful if you want assistance with identification. If you state the lake and the geographic region, perhaps someone may have a background on the geology of the area and be able to help more. And I understand your comment about the cell phone image quality, but the pictures are too small and unclear to make out crystal faces, so even speculative visual identification becomes nearly impossible.
