Other minerals found with Diamonds

0 votes

I'm just wondering what minerals are found with diamonds during open pit and underground mining if there are any...I have read that during alluvial mining, red garnets and green emeralds are indicative of the possibility of diamonds near by - is that true? Thank you for your time.

Frequent mineral associates of Diamond are pyrope garnet, olivine, magnetite, phlogopite, and graphite. It is true that red garnets are found in association with diamonds, though they are usually small and not gem quality. Emeralds are not found in association with diamonds though.
