The purple rock with the pink inside is probably a rose colored quartz. I have no idea what the husk is or the host rock.. the tan rock is smoothed over by weathering or wave/water action and has lost most of the identifying characteristics. Right now all we have is color. Maybe where it was found could help us narrow it down. Simply put, I found this rock wading in a river near Erie Pennsylvania. I found this rock in a heap of pilings outside a copper mine in Houghton, Michigan. That gives us a geographical context to start the process.
