Need help identifying rock

0 votes

My son found this rock and we can't seem to identify it. The thing that has us stumped is it attracts a magnet. It's not magnetic itself though. So I'm thinking there is iron in it. There is no sign of rust though. The second picture looks like it's almost been melted, like a meteorite. But the bottom is flat and smooth. It's also very heavy for it's size.

Can anyone help ID this? You sure w

Can you please give some additional information where you found it, what the area where it was found looked like (i.e. was it extracted from bedrock, river bed, type of surrounded rock, etc.) And lastly, can you do a streak test?
