Found this at a Maya Ruin in my hometown here in Belize, is it of any value?

Good Day. I'm from Belize and i was around a ruin that has not yet been discovered here In Orange Walk Town, Belize and i found this near some broken up pottery and so. I just want to know if it is of any value.. i would appreciate the info. Thanks.

Rogelio, this looks like a water smoothed rock. If it were from a riverbed and I was guessing I would say yellow Quartz. Try holding the rock between your fingers up to a bright light source like a flashlight. It may be translucent which means light will pass through it. If it is Quartz you will not be able to scratch it with most common rocks.

We really don't value rocks because that is very subjective and variable. We have stated rocks are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. If it is quartz, it is a very common rock and has only the intrinsic value you place on it. Cool rocks are cool rocks, though.
