minerals are everywhere. Your backyard, your driveway, the beach, on a hike, in a streambed, a pile of rocks. Literally, anywhere. You might try collecting a few samples and try to identify the ones you think are attractive. You could go to a rock/mineral shop. You could get a book about them from the library or look them up on line. If you go outside and look for one all white rock. 95 times out of a hundred, you will have found Quartz.
