Is this "Serpentine"? Found in obsidian flow

0 votes

Found a pretty large roadside obsidian flow here in Oregon. Large, 30 foot hills of glassy black to black with brown and green to glassy brighter green. I sanded two sides of this smaller piece and did not get what I expected.

It was a piece from the same flow as all these much larger pieces.

This specimen certainly looks like serpentine.

Does it have a smooth, greasy feel to it? That would be a characteristic identifies of serpentine.
