Tan Stone with dark viens

I have a stone of particular interest that i found in North Carolina in Franklin. It is a Tan coloured stone that has thin Dark veins running through the stone's structure.It is opaque and a little heavy as well. the general shape of the specimen suggests Isometric formation but there is a lump of the stone itself missing. i will post a picture later

That looks like chert. Very common. It is smooth, almost waxy to the touch. The fractures look like conchoidal fractures. Definitely chert.

The red in it could be chalcedony which is very similar to chert.
