White chalky rock with other sediments.

0 votes

alt textIt is a white chalky rock with other bits in it.

It does not scratch glass, but does leave a white streak on the glass. But I can't scrape anything off with my fingernail. It does not react to vinegar (not any part of the rock. When I made it wet with water the rock smelled of chalk and metal.

The matrix is likely a clay mineral but hard to tell what the other material is that is frozen in the matrix.
