Clear mineral

0 votes

Another mineral I have trouble identifying.

Greyish, clear. No reaction to vinegar, push my fingernail in it with no effort, does not scratch glass.

Thanks, Renata

If you can push your fingernail it is most likely gypsum (i.e. selenite). Can you bend small crystal parts? Will your fingernail scratch it?

Yes I can, Hershel. I had stated that in my question.

I was almost certain it would be a gypsum. But again I'm wondering about the colour and inclusions.

Is there a list of colors of minerals that correspond to the colors in the stone?
