Hi,

The picture is very blurry so it is a bit of a guessing game. Here are my suggestions; red tourmaline, red spinel or red calcite.

Might be a garnet, although the red is a bit too red. Ruby is a possibility as well. How large is it and maybe some pics from different sides?

Thank you. I took a better pic next to a ruler. Hopefully this helps

It is not garnet, they are more cubic.

Does not look transparent; not tourmaline, nor spinel.

Red calcite is a possibility. Maybe even carnelion.

That actually looks like red glass. Can you describe where found it?

All the pictures I've posted are from my grandfathers collection that i inheirted. I have several cases full of rocks. I know he traveled in the army and collected from different places. I also found a book he wrote with pictures of him mining in mountains. I'm sorry i don't have any information on where he got them. I would like to find someone to look at them all and maybe give me an idea on what they are. There's too much to take pictures of them all

Heather,

If you google Red Slag Glass you may find that it might be just that.

When Hershel mentioned glass I thought of volcanic glass; obsidian but I don't think it comes in this color red.
