Stability of Barite during metamorphism

0 votes

Working in an amphibolite facies region (mostly marbles, quartzite, and garnet amphibolite) I have a rock body that appears to be barite. Is sedimentary barite stable at these P & T conditions?

For the most part barite is stable, though it is brittle and cleaves easily.
