Probably Lake Superior Agate. Agate is known to come from the basalt shores of Lake Superior, and is locally known as Lake Superior Agate.

Because it appears to me there is a chalky look to parts of your stone I would say it's some kind of fossil. I've found a number of 'rocks' over the years that look like this but I'm no expert. There certainly are fossils to be found up here.

From the additional pictures it looks like flint/chert in a chalk base. However, the area around Lake Superior is generally basalt, not chalk, so it could be from a foreign source or placed by glaciers from a different origin.
